John Jones Obituary
Mr. Jones was a member of the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham. He had a heart for the impoverished and less fortunate and devoted countless hours and resources to this cause.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Wess R. Jones Jr. and Theresa Cruthirds Jones; a sister, Karon Jones Wilcox; and father-in-law, Kenneth DeBerry.
Survivors include Mr. Jones' wife, Kathy Jones; one son, Brad Jones; three brothers, Barry Jones (Cheryl) and Wess Jones III (Dawn), both of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and Preston Burgess (Judy) of Durham, North Carolina; one sister, Suzi Hinton (Jeff) of Ocean Springs; mother-in-law, Nadine DeBerry of Ocean Springs; brother-in-law, Jeff DeBerry of Biloxi; nieces; nephews; one great-niece; cousins; aunts; and uncles.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham. Dr. David Platt will officiate.
The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to The Church at Brook Hills, 3145 Brook Highland Drive, Birmingham, AL 35242. Telephone (205) 313-7777.
