John "Johnnie" Joseph Pecoul, Sr., age 87, passed away in Biloxi, MS. He was born January 1, 1920 in New Orleans and lived there most of his life, moving to Waveland in 1999. His proudest accomplishment was being a veteran of the Army, serving with General Patton in World War II. He was a founding member of VFW Post 6640.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Erma; his parents, Alfred and Elvina Pecoul; and siblings, Charles, Alfred, Adelle, Sis, Norman, and Jimmy Pecoul.
John was the loving father of John J. Pecoul, Jr. and wife Karlyn, and Kathleen P. Camp and husband Charlie. He was a proud grandfather to Meliss Carlson and husband Steve, Keith Pecou, Laura Freeman and husband Jared, Katy Camp, and Kelly Camp; great granddaughter, Layne Carlson; also survived by brother, Stanley Pecoul; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service is Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., December 18, 2007 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Rd., in Pass Christian, where friends may visit from noon until service time. (From Interstate I-10, take exit 20, go north, two miles on left.) Interment will follow in Bayou LaCroix cemetery.
