Mr. Joseph John Baragona, 79, of Biloxi, MS, died April 28, 2007, in Biloxi.
Mr. Baragona was a native of Grenada, MS, and had been a resident of Biloxi since 1990 and operated the Golden Turtle Lounge in Biloxi until Hurricane Katrina. He was the owner of Baragona Oil Company and Sav-Mor Drugs in Grenada. In his younger years he was employed as a radio announcer at WNAG. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his four daughters, Katherine Felt of Sacramento, CA, Karyne Shedden of Los Angeles, CA, Kimberly Maye of San Diego, CA, and Gloria Baragona Ward and her husband, Joe, of Grenada; two sisters, Rose Richerdson and her husband, David, of Ocean Springs, and Delores Verderame of Cooksville, TN; and four grandchildren, Travis Rowell of Sacramento, CA, Zach Maye of Santa Barbara, CA, Christopher Rocha and Tori Ward of Grenada.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 16 Northtown Drive, Suite 100, Jackson, MS 39211.
