Dr. Joseph Clements Coskey, Au.D.

Omaha, Nebraska - Joe Coskey, a resident of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on September 7, 2022 in Omaha. Joe was born in Gulfport, MS. He was of the Catholic faith. Prior to moving to Omaha five years ago, Joe had been a longtime resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Mobile, AL.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Joseph and Jeanette Coskey and the late Charles and Kay Clements.
Joe is survived by his beloved children, Joey and Gracie Coskey of Jacksonville, FL; his mother Penny Clements Coskey of Ocean Springs, MS, sister Marnie Schmidt of Tampa Bay, FL; his father James (Jim) and step-mother Kathy Coskey of Biloxi, MS and step-sisters Kathy Davison (Plaquemine, LA), Colleen Larsen, Maureen Halbrook, Christie Cunningham, all of Pascagoula, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was a dedicated public servant and proud to serve our veterans within the Veterans Health Administration where he was Chief of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology for the Nebraska and Western Iowa Health Care System. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid fan of Mississippi State baseball and the New Orleans Saints. In his youth, Joe enjoyed his hunting trips to Michigan, fishing, and competitive swimming, gymnastics and football. Joe will be remembered for his charisma and ability to fill a room with laughter. He will be dearly missed by many friends and family.
Joe attended St. Alphonsus Elementary and Mercy Cross High School. Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in Audiology & Speech Pathology and his Master of Science in Audiology at the University of South Alabama, where he was also member of the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity. In pursuit of advanced knowledge, Joe earned his Doctorate of Clinical Audiology from the University of Florida.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi. A memorial mass will be said for Joe at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha at the 11:15 a.m. on November 9, 2022.
