Lana Fay Lacaze Bayer, age 71 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence J. Bayer. Daughter of the late Eugene Lacaze and Thelma Chastant Lacaze. Mother of Heidi Lynn Bayer, Frank E. Bayer, Sr. and the late Lawrence J. Bayer. Grandmother of Andrew Rae-Bayer, Frank E. Bayer, Jr., Lawrence C. Bayer, Randall A. Bayer and Amelia A. Bayer. Sister of Eugene E. Lacaze, Sr. Aunt of Michelle Bayer Wallace and Eugene E. Lacaze, Jr. Beloved lifelong friends of Rosita and Luis Malta and Lonnie Gambino. Beloved companion of Mr. Joseph Hunt, World War II Veteran. Lana worked as a nurse at Heritage Manor, Malta Park and Poydras Home. She received the Nurse of the Year award in 1993. She served as Director of Nurses at Malta Park. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 4PM until 9PM. If you wish to send flowers, floral arrangements are being handled by LeGrand Florist, 504-362-5757 or visit www.legrandflorist.com. Interment will be privately held at a later date. My Sympathy goes out to Lana's Family, she was a wonderful and kind person and very happy. May your memories of the wonderful times which we have all shared with her,comfort you and your family today and always. Lana trained me when i joined the Family at Malta Park and i Thank her for parting with me her vast knowledge, and i went on to be in charge at Malta Square. we did keep in touch over the years.I was lucky to have known Lana and i know a lot of people were too.God is always with you in every turn you make and he will help to heal you but know in your heart that Lana will always be with you. Lana worked with me at Malta Park and she was so caring with all residents, so loving with everyone, and at the same time so efficient at her job. She would stay extra when anyone needed her and did caring things that she never told anyone about, you just sometimes found out about it from the residents. She was always calm even in emergencies. She was one of my heroes.

Always with a smile on her face and never an unkind word I worked with your Mother she was the best Nurse at Malta Park I haven't seen her since the late 90's but when I saw her picture in the obits all the wonderful memories I had with Ms. Lana came back to me May she rest in paradise. -
