Lori Duccini Obituary
Gulfport, Mississippi
Lori (Ernst) Duccini, 53, of Gulfport, Mississippi, formerly of Bellevue, Iowa passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Memorial Hospital-Gulfport surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi on Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held October 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue.
Lori was born April 8, 1958 in Bellevue to Gerry and Dee Ernst. She graduated from Marquette High School in 1976 and married Ron Duccini on May 8, 1976.
She was a longtime member and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Lori and her husband moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast from Iowa in 1993, where they operated a gift shop and arcade at Treasure Bay Casino until August 29, 2005.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ron Duccini of Gulfport; two daughters, Nicole Duccini of Gulfport and Tracy (Jack) Covarrubias of Long Beach, her parents Gerry and Dee Ernst, and siblings, Ken (Barb) Ernst, Jean (Kenny) Laaker, Chuck (Judy) Ernst, Shari (Michael) Beadle, Randy (Ana) Ernst, Cathy (Doug) Oberbroeckling, John (Elaine) Ernst and brother-in-law, Bill Lubbers. She is also survived by a step-granddaughter, Savannah Covarrubias of Ocean Springs, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and her puppy girls, Chloe and Mia.
Lori is preceded in death by her sister Dianna (Ernst) Lubbers, her niece Melissa Ernst, her nephew Alexander Ernst, her fraternal grandparents, Vern and Augusta Ernst and maternal grandparents, Ben and Bernadine Wellen.
The Duccini family would like to thank Dr. Allison Wall and Dr. Scott Gioe from Memorial Hospital and Dr. John Bolton from Ochsner Medical Center for their guidance and support throughout her illness.
