Morris G. Kidd, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, passed away February 20, 2006. He is remembered as a loving husband, father and friend to many. Employed in 1953 by Southern Natural Gas Company in Meridian, MS, he began as a clerk and retired 34 years later as Director of Purchasing and Materials Management in Birmingham, Ala. He was a Korean War veteran and served honorably 26 years with the Mississippi Army and Air National Guard, retiring in 1974 with the rank of Lt. Colonel.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Catlett Kidd, and parents, Marvin G. and Mittie J. Kidd of Meridian, MS. He is survived by his second wife, Jerri Mayor Kidd, formerly of Meridian, MS, and his sons Morris Scott Kidd (Joanna) of Tuscaloosa, AL., and Paul Christopher Kidd (Cathy) of Hoover, AL, stepdaughter Dena Brunson Mackie of Knoxville, TN, stepson Hobe Brunson of Knoxville, TN, grandchildren, Christy Kidd Haynes (Jeremy), Kacy Lynn Kidd, Christopher Grant Kidd, Bradley Morris Kidd, Sarah Christine Kidd, and great-granddaughter Emma Grace Haynes. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa, AL at noon with visitation starting at 11 a.m.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I worked very closely with Morris for many years when he was in the Materials Department at SNG. He was a joy to work with and his knowledge of the gas company was incredible.
