Robert Ruiz Obituary
Known as "Tony" to everyone who knew him, Tony was born in Biloxi, MS on February 18th 1954. He was the first son of Homero "Peppy" and Iona Ruiz. Tony graduated from Biloxi High School in 1972.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother Iona Smith, step-mother Arlene Ruiz and nephew Joshua Harmic.
Tony is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Jamie Starr, son-in-law Brandon and first grandson Wyatt who is due in November, father Peppy Ruiz and step-mother Jane Ruiz, brother Lavon Staten and wife Veronica, brother Ricky Ruiz and wife Sharon, sister Aloma Mello and husband Mark, sister Belinda Zitko and husband Mike, sister Kim Broderick and husband Mannie, brother Shawn Dickinson and wife Karen, sister Desiree Woroner and husband Chris, and brother Taino Ruiz, as well as 29 nieces and nephews, and 32 great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23 at Griffin- Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana. Visitation is at 1 p.m. with Memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. A future memorial of Tony's life will be held in Biloxi, Ms.

My condolences to all the Ruiz family. Tony was a good friend and a great person. I still use the crawfish pot and basket he got for me 25 years ago, I will think of him everytime I boil up some seafood. My God bless him.

Aloma, I'm so sorry that you lost your brother. My son and his family will be here from Arkansas tomorrow so I won't be able to go to the memorial service.

I went to high school with Tony and encountered him again and again throughout the years. What a great guy! Taken too young. Prayers are with the family.
