Stanton Stafford Saunders was born in Gulfport, MS. He was known to his friends and family as "Trap." He attended Gulfport Schools and graduated from West Harrison High School in 2012, where he was a member of the football team. Stanton was also an inactive member of the Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church, but believed in God and was saved. He was well-known in the area as an aspiring rapper. Stanton Saunders passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Gulfport at the age of 21.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Syril Sidney Saunders, Sr., Rev. Arthur Scott; grandmothers, Doris Saunders, Augustine Scott and Dorothy Smith.
Stanton is survived by his parents: Vanessa Ann Smith of Gulfport and Stanley (Martha) Stafford Saunders Sr. of Gulfport; sisters: Dominique (Ulise, Jr.) Collins, Stephanie (Xavier) Joiner and Tonda McInnis; brother: Stanley Saunders, Jr. of Gulfport and Richard Black of Morristown, TN; son: Kingstan Saunders; his maternal grandfather: Clarence Smith, Sr. of Reserve, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be 11AM Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Gulfport. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to service time. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Gulfport. WWW.MARSHALLFH.COM.

Although I wasn't so fortunate enough to have known Stanton, I feel like I knew him. I've kept updated on his story on local news, and I have also been so heartbroken over your (and our) loss of this young man. May God Bless his Memory. Rest in Peace, Stanton.

Sorry for your great lossI didn't know your love one but by the talk on t.v.he was a specialspecia man who touched alot of lives.Keep your hands in the Master hand you won't go wrong.God words say "Weeping may endue for a night but joy comes in the morning. .Praying that God comfort and strengthen you for the days to come.
