Col. Stephen Francis Farry, Sr., U. S. Air Force, retired, 92, of Biloxi passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Biloxi.
Mr. Farry, born April 22, 1923 in Albert Lea, Minnesota and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1941. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN in 1949, and Master of Science degree with the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, MS in 1977. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Troop Carrier Command, Ninth Air Force, and later had assignments as Air Force ROTC Assistant Professor of Air Science, Air Training Command instructor/director, and Air Defense Command and Control Staff Office, serving three separate tours in the Pacific Theater in Staff and Command positions. Mr. Farry retired with the rank of Colonel from the U.S. Air Force with 27 years of honorable service.
Mr. Farry was a member of several organizations, including an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, active with the Reinhart Schroeder Council 9409, Fourth Degree D'Iberville Assembly of the Knights of Columbus, International Order of Alhambra, Oran Caravan 67, Order of the Daedalians, Flight 40, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Biloxi Lodge 6067, American Legion Post 119, and the Gulf Coast Military Officers Association.
He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector/Commentator, and member of the St. Vincent de Paul Council. He was former President of the Holy Name Society and the Parish Council, and a former member of Our Lady of Fatima School Board, the Parish Building Committee, and the Parish Finance Committee.
Mr. Farry was preceded in death by his parents, John Augustus Farry and Thyra Elizabeth (Houlahan) Farry; his wife, Catherine Rose (Evanson) Farry; son, Joseph A. Farry; and two brothers, John P. Farry and William Farry.
He is survived by his children: Ellen L. Justice, Stephen F. Farry, Jr., Susan M. Donovan, Michael E. Farry, and Maureen A. Davis; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Biloxi served the family.

Mr. Steve was a valued and loved part of Sunkist CC for many years. His presence as a golfer and in later years as a social member will always be remembered. He was a kind & generous man. I will think of him often.

Deepest sympathy on the loss of Col. Steve. He was a regular at O'Charleys for lunch and we used to race each other to complete the newspaper word puzzle. He was a true gentleman.
