Thomas Valentino Obituary
March 6, 1933 - April 24, 2015
Biloxi, MS
Thomas F. Valentino believed in and loved education. After earning a Master's Degree in Physics, he enjoyed a career as a high school teacher in Batavia and Chicago, IL. Known for his outgoing personality, reliability, and humor, he was especially appreciated for his ability to guide others to achieve their goals and capture their dreams. Thomas Valentino passed away peacefully Friday, April 24, 2015 in Pascagoula, MS at the age of 82. Thomas will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and relatives.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Thomas Valentino and Argentina Trainer.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Ruthann Valentino; his sons: Marco S. Valentino and Carlo M. (Iva) Valentino; sisters: Elsie (Leroy) Drew and Dixie La Marca; many nieces, nephews, and cousins remain in touch.
The family spent 41 summers in Glidden, WI, on the banks of the Chippewa River. It was a fine location for fishing, swimming, canoeing, and exploring. Many good friends were made and cherished during those times. Tom would have summarized his life in six words: One wife. Two sons. One life.
The family would like to thank Dr. B. Persing, his staff, Ocean Springs Hospital, Singing River Hospice of Light, and home care nurses for the care and support provided to Tom during his illness. A memorial will be held at a later date.

To the family of my friend Tom, Please accept my condolences of the passing of this fine fellow and a great friend of mine. Tom was a fellow Master Naturalist here in South Mississippi and I truly enjoyed our time together. Ruthann, Marco and Carlo, please know that your husband and dad touch my life in so many positive ways. He was so much like the teachers that inspired me to be what I have become. I will miss his smile and "bear" hugs. To sisters Elsie and Dixie, I am sure that your brother Tom was surely your "hero". Bless you all!
