I had the pleasure of having him & Lou as my godparents. He was the sweetest man, my parents were Jerry & Flo Hunter,we lived in Picayune,ms. All 4 of them are back together now,,,having a good time! I didn't know he had passed until a few minutes a go, I always get a Christmas card from him the day after Thanksgiving, I sent him one, then I began to wonder...Thoughts & prayers to all of his family, loved him like adad.

Grandpa and Granny were a blessing that will be missed in this life. It'll be nice to see them again when the Lord calls us home.

I a sorry to hear of your loss. As I was continuing my on going search of World War 2 I came across William DeSorbo's Obituary. I felt compelled to respond. My father Gerald G. Spitler (called Jimmy) was a bomber pilot in the 484 the BG, the 825 the BS and flew in the same campaigns as your Bill. My father was shot down on June 13, 1944 and was a POW till the war ended. He passed away in 1985, I miss him, he was my hero, they were all so brave, so young and all were American heroes. God Bless you all in this time of loss. I know Bill and my Dad were connected.

Loved your dad. Was such a joy to have known him and your mom while you lived in Heath and when Carol and I visited. He was so good to her when she cut her foot in the gulf. I will always remember his kindness.

I was saddened to read of Bill's passing in the paper yesterday. He always had a smile at the 9 AM Mass and I enjoyed ushering with him.
Dearest Jesus, who wept at the death of your friend
and taught that they who mourn shall be comforted,
grant us the comfort of your presence in our loss.
Send Your Holy Spirit to direct us
lest we make hasty or foolish decisions.
Send Your Spirit to give us courage
lest through fear we recoil from living.
Send Your Spirit to bring us your peace
lest bitterness, false guilt, or regret take root in our hearts.
The Lord has given.
The Lord has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Amen.
Requiescat in pacem aeternum.
