Rita David

1936 - 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rita David, who departed this life peacefully on June 24th, surrounded by those who loved her most. Rita's warmth, strength, and enduring grace touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born on Oct 20th, in the Bronx in New York City, Rita lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and generosity. Whether through her work, her friendships, or her role as a beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Rita offered unwavering support, thoughtful wisdom, and a steady presence that comforted many.
Rita was president of the Alpine Woman's Club from 2010 to 2012, served on the board for several years and was instrumental in starting the Sponsorship Program. Rita was also very active with the Old Globe Theatre, East County Arts and was an avid sailor along with her husband Jim.
Rita had a gift for making others feel seen and heard, and her home was a place of welcome and care. She carried herself with quiet dignity and an open heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a moment of laughter.
Rita leaves behind her husband Jim David, her grandsons Dylan and Damon their children and countless friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her son Paul David.
A private celebration of Rita's life will be held at her home, in Alpine, where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her honor to the Alpine Woman's Club.
Though she may be gone from our sight, Rita's legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
