Steven Barry Yohai

Steven Barry Yohai was born in Queens, NY, and left this world far too soon after a courageous journey with a rare degenerative brain disease. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. We ask that you remember Steve with love, knowing he lived his life with honor, kindness, and integrity.
After graduating from Cardoza High School, Steve proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS America, working on the arresting gear of the aircraft carrier. He often reflected on his service with pride, sharing stories of the strong bonds he formed with his fellow sailors. His commitment to the Navy remained steadfast through his 25 years of involvement with the Navy League, where he found joy in awarding scholarships to sailors, meeting the Blue Angels, and taking memorable day sails-often sharing these experiences with family.
Steve went on to earn a degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Arizona State University and began his career in the aerospace industry. In 1993, he shifted paths to become a financial advisor, opening the first Edward Jones office in Seal Beach. With compassion and dedication, he guided countless clients and became a trusted advisor and friend. In 2020, he proudly passed his practice on to his daughter Rachael, leaving a lasting legacy at Edward Jones.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Betsy; his devoted daughter, Rachael, son-in-law Sam, and cherished new granddaughter, Wren. He will be deeply missed by his sister-in-law Meredith, brother-in law Lyndon, nephew Ryan, brother-in-law Peter and mother-in-law Joan. Also survived by his sister Susan, brother-in-law Chuck, niece Shawn, his treasured Aunt Maureen, and his cousins Craig and Shelly.
Those who knew Steve will remember his quiet strength, caring nature, and unwavering commitment to his family. He was a true New Yorker at heart, deeply loyal to those he loved, and he touched the lives of many. Steve will be profoundly missed, but his spirit lives on in the love and memories he shared with all who knew him.
