Terrance R. "Terry" Nordness

1942 - 2024

Janesville, WI - Terrance "Terry" R. Nordness, age 81, of Janesville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Terry was born in Madison on October 17, 1942; the son of Richard Sr. and Irene (Krause) Nordness. After graduating from Sun Prairie High School (class of 1960), Terry enlisted and honorably served our country in the United States Army. He married Barb (Ross) Nordness in Madison on July 17, 1967; and they were blessed with two daughters: Cathy and LuCretia. Terry worked for the same Ford dealership in Janesville for over 50 years, through multiple ownership changes. He worked his way up from a detailer, to a salesman, all the way up to the General Manager at Gordie Boucher. He recently stepped down as the General Manager, but still enjoyed going to work when he was not in Florida. Terry enjoyed going to car races, bowling, golfing, and playing euchre.

Terry is survived by his daughters, Cathy Machajewski and LuCretia (John) Krysiak; grandchildren: Nikki North (Mike Kennon), Michael Machajewski, Chelsea (Joel) Mitchell and Cenzie Schroeder (Alex Hermanson); great-grandchildren: Elliana, Mack, Aria and Archie; siblings: Steve (Sheryl) Guetzlaff, Shelly (Keith) Ullrich, Kurt (Ann) Nordness and Denise (Jeff) Stier; sister-in-law, Lea Nordness; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and good friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barb Nordness; his parents, Richard Sr. and Irene (Krause) Nordness; and his siblings, Dick Nordness and RoseAnn Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME; with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Military Honors and committal will immediately follow to Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Memorial donations can be made to: The American Heart Association or to The American Diabetes Association.
