Ann Bartusch Obituary

Ann Bartusch, of Lake Placid, Florida passed away late Wednesday evening July 13, 2016, after her courageous fight with breast cancer. She was born May 20, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ann is survived by her loving husband, Ed, of 46 years; daughter, Theresa (Joe) Monica and 8-year-old granddaughter, Emily Monica of Decatur, GA.; sister, Kathy (Bob) Moss of Wichita Falls, TX; brother, Peter (Rita) Hyland of Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents Francis P. Hyland and Mary Jane Hyland (Ferguson) and brother, Patrick Hyland. Ann was a retired primary/elementary school teacher. Ann taught for a total of 37 years in Cedarburg, WI; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Sebring, FL and Lake Placid, FL. Ann was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church. She served in the Sunday School, nursery, altar guild, choir, LWML, Ladies Guild, as an elder and education chairperson. Ann was also a member of GFWC Lake Placid Women's Club and ESO Book Club since 2010. After growing up in Milwaukee, WI., and attending college, Ed and Ann married and moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1970. After Ed retired, they moved to Lake Placid in 1995. A "Celebration of Life" service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lake Placid FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to; Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL. 33870, or Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 25 Lakeview Street, Lake Placid, FL. 33852. Ann was more then my client... Ann was my friend! I watched this beautiful strong and courageous woman put up the most amazing battle for life that I believe I've ever seen and although I know she lives in our hearts forever I miss her laughter and smile and words of wisdom
