It is with great sadness that I learned today of Barbara's passing. My condolences to her family. Though you will certainly miss her, please remember to celebrate her life. She was a special person, and for those of us that are fortunate to have spent time with her, she will be with us always.

It was with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of Barbara. She was one of the founding members of the Centre for Sciences here at the University of the West Indies and her legacy lives. My condolences to her family and may God comfort you during these difficult times.

Barbara, I can't believe you're gone. I still remember you and Cesna (from Jamaica) and me (from the Cook Islands) battling the snow in Nova Scotia. 3 women from the tropics - we must have been completely mad. It was great knowing you, sharing the ups and downs of life. You were one in a million.

Rest in the Lord, Barbs, your travail is over. Your passing has left a huge gap - we battled through our Masters at UWI and Marine Affairs at Dalhousie together and triumphed. I will forever remember and treasure your smile and irrepressibly cheerful personality. Thank you Lord for lending Barbara to us.

I was a classmate of Barbara's at ICHS, and I heard about Barbara's passing though Facebook. I remember her clearly because of her long hair and her ready smile. Her family and friends are in my prayers at this difficult time.

I was so shocked and saddened to be sent Barbara's obituary today. I sat behind her in Fifth Form at Immaculate and remember her as a warm, caring, gentle person. I am so sorry for your loss.

I have had the pleasure of working with Barbara for the past 5+ years and am mourning the loss of a good friend. One thing about Barbara that will always stay with me is how she always had a smile on her face. With everything she has been going through not once did she ever complain.
