Drucker, Cecilia, 76, died in her home in Silver Spring, MD, Saturday night, Jan 21, 2006. During her life she wore many hats; she was VP of a Watch Company, a dress designer, a full time mother and a good friend to many. Cecilia was born in Romania, lived with her aunt and uncle for much of her youth due to financial circumstances. She left Romania during WWII, and traveled through Israel and Canada before settling in NY. She married a man she had met in Romania and had two daughters. She moved to NJ and lived there for many years. Cecilia retired in Delray Beach, FL where she lived for about 15 years. From her stories, those years in Delray were the best years of her life. She made innumerable friends and touched many lives. She often volunteered at the Delray Community Hospital. Towards the end of her life as her illness was making her more dependent, she moved to Maryland to be nearer to family. It is not uncommon to hear those that knew her say that she was "one of a kind". She woke up each day with a smile on her face, and got her greatest pleasures from helping others. Those that knew her were touched by her altruism, and changed in a positive way. Her wish was to die in her home in the comfort of what was familiar. Thanks to the help of her caretaker, she was pampered and comfortable during her last few days. She would also want to thank all those at Bedford Court that made her last few months more meaningful. We know you are somewhere at peace and will live on in the hearts and souls of those you have touched. Cecilia is survived by her daughter, Heather living in Potomac, MD, and her daughter, Claire living Ross, CA.
