Our Dearest Chad,
It has been almost a year now since we lost you, and we miss you as much today as then. You are ALWAYS in our thoughts, and the wonderful memories of you, our amazing son, bring us much comfort.
Since you are watching over us and your beautiful family, you know that we are all doing well, even though there is a deep and forever hole in all our hearts. You would be so proud of Anya, Quentin, and Monique. Anya is so smart, beautiful, happy, and has such a sunny personality and ready smile - she's YOU!!!! She IS the best of you and Monique. We will keep you alive for her, and she will always know how much you love her.
Quentin, "your boy", is growing into a handsome, intelligent young man. He will be starting in the Gifted Program this fall, and I know he will do so well, just as you did.
Monique has been so strong, and as always, she is such a wonderful mother. She is forging a new career path in Psychology, and she is happy. I know this is what you so want for her.
B, Patty, and Dennis miss you so very, very much, and they still love you completely and always.
Chad, we know you are in a wonderful place and will be welcoming us when we join you some day.
We will miss you forever and love you for eternity.

Mary and Craig,
You could not know...but I do think of you both often. No words can really express to you the loss that I feel and how I cannot even begin to imagine your journey through this. I know that there is great comfort in memories and, of course, his precious little girl. Please know that you are still in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr. & Mrs. Haverfield, the letter you wrote to Chad was absolutely beautiful. I think about Chad almost on a daily basis when certain philosophical thoughts pop in my head and Iimagine what our conversation would be about it. It's funny, it sometimes feels like I am having a conversation with him in my mind.
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Haverfield, I hope you both are doing well. I just wanted to let you know that I think about you two and how painful the whole process must be. I liked how you ended your letter knowing that you will meet him again someday. When you do see him again, please say hello from me and tell him how much everybody missed him. He was a wonderful guy. I know he had wonderful parents to show him how to be that way. Take care!

This letter is to you, our dear, dear Chad. We know you can read this message from your heavenly resting place, so we wanted to say to you once more that you were the BEST son any parent could ever hope for. You always made us so very proud. Your independence, your pursuit of your dreams, your determination, your kind heart, your intelligence, your warmth, your calmness, your sense of humor, and your love of your family made us feel like we did something right in raising you. You were everything to us, and we miss you so.
You will now live on through your beautiful legacy, Anya. Your spirit and zest for life can be seen shining through her eyes. She will ALWAYS make you beam with pride, and she'll ALWAYS and forever be "Daddy's Little Girl". We know you will be watching over her and guiding her through her journey in life, just as a good father always does; and you were the BEST father!!!
You made such a wise choice when you married your beautiful wife, Monique. She and your beloved step-son, Quentin, cherish your memory and will always carry you in their hearts. They will forever make you proud and happy.
Your extended family, and your "second moms", Aunt B and Aunt Patty, will eternally treasure their love for you. There is now and always will be a hole in their hearts.
All your friends, and you had so many: the whole Gang, your elementary school friends, your middle school friends, your high school friends, your college friends, your adult-life friends, and your professional-life friends all remember and cherish their times with you. I hear from them all, and your spirit is celebrated by them each and every day.
We, your devoted and grieving parents, will forever love you. You were the light of our lives, and you still shine bright for us as the most brillliant star in the evening sky. We know we will be with you again someday, and we look so forward to hearing the familiar and beautiful words, "Hey, Mom" and "Hey, Dad".
Love to you for all eternity, Mom & Dad

I was so completely shocked when I heard the news about Chad's passing-away. I am trying to wrap my brain around the fact that a really wonderful and nice guy is no longer with us. I had the pleasure of meeting him through a company where we worked together recently, we both got married around the same time and had our baby daughters around the same time as well. I know he loved Monique dearly and Quentin and that little Anya was the light of his life. My deepest sympathies to the man I recently had a phone call with about his newest dreams of visiting Austin. My condolences to his family and his beautiful kids. I am so saddened. What a wonderful person.

Dear Mary and Craig,
I am devastated to hear about the loss of your precious Chad. Even though I had never met Chad you have told me about him yearly in your Christmas messages. By reading the words that others have written it seems that he has the same kindness and love that Mary gave to me as a young girl moving to Madison as a stranger from France. You were the first person to reach out to me in grade school Mary and became my best friend throughout school and our time in Madison. I cannot imagine the heartache of losing a child in the prime of his life. My thoughts prayers and love are with you at this difficult time and just wish I could be there to give you hugs and a shoulder to cry on. I know that your wonderful family and friends will be there to help you in the years to come and for that I thank God. Love you. Pat Daun Claps

I have been hoping to find the words to express my deepest sympathy to Chad's parents, wife, children, family, but I just can't find the words. This message is just to let each of you know that you are in my thoughts, prayers, and my heart, especially now as you try so hard to go on without Chad in your lives. But, Chad would want each of you to continue to live each day fully and remember him always with a smile. The days ahead will be difficult, but hold tightly to your precious memories which will keep Chad close always in your hearts.
Deepest sympathy to my friend, Mary, and Craig and to Monique, Anya, and Quentin.

This might be duplicated, but I don't see my post and I wanted to make sure Chad's whole family received my thoughts and prayers.
Chad and I go all the way back to early Elementary and went all the way through the end of high school. We shared a similar path from gifted to sports to common friends. Looking back, Chad was one of the most hard working, easy going, and team oriented people I have ever, to this day, met.
Who else could go from lineman to running back in one year???
I can remember being his lab partner in chemistry and laughing when John Ferro would deliver 'Ferro's Pizza' to our class (considering you weren't allowed to leave school grounds it was funny!)
We re-connected via facebook last year and it was easy to see Chad hadn't lost his great sense of humor. Exchanging stories and reflective thoughts about those days brought many laughs -- over those comments.
I recall a time when the song 'Hotel California' came on and Chad mentioned that there probably going to be nothing better than enjoying what we were doing and listening to that music. Chad, I hope you are at that place and listening to that song...
To his whole family - you were lucky to have him for the time you did. My thoughts prayers go out to you during this most difficult time. I lost my father a few months ago and am steal dealing with the loss.

I was terribly saddened to hear of the loss of Chad...we went all the way back to early elementary school. From the gifted program to sports to graduation, we seemed to have a similar childhood path.
Most of all his humor, easy going nature, and hard work ethic is what sticks out in my mind. After all, who could go from an offensive lineman to a running back in one year.
A vivid memory I have is from our Junior Yearbook party when the song 'Hotel California' came on. Chad said to me...there is nothing better than sitting outside and enjoying a beer to that song. Well - I hope you are in that place, hearing that song, and drinking that beer. Rest in peace.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Haverfield family as I am still dealing with the loss of my father in April.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Chad's family and friends in this very sad time. In high school Chad always seemed like the person I would most want to emulate very smart, athletic, polite and never a harsh word towards anyone, with giant drive, heart, and determination. I just hope that he is having as great of an influence over his surroundings where ever he may be right now, as he had while he was here.

I had the great pleasure of spending time with Chad at family get-togethers throughout our childhood. I just met Chad a little over two weeks ago. We immediately hit it off and a creative partnership was born. What a fantastic creative mind! We collaborated on a small project and were looking forward to our next and more large scale project together. Although the time we knew each other was short (too short) I value every moment of it. He spoke of his family often and clearly cherished them. I am saddened and sickened to type these words of regret and sorrow at a life cut too short. Chad will be missed and to those he left behind my thoughts are with you.

We are so, so sad to hear of Chad's passing. He made us feel like family from the moment we met him. He was always so fun and enjoyable to be around. We spent the last two Thanksgivings together (after his annual run). He gave me a silly nickname so I could be like the other guys in the family. He had a smile that would light up a room and a sparkle in his eye. We will dearly miss Chad and we can hardly imagine the loss that his family and best friends feel. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. I hope that your family's sorrow will in time be replaced with warm memories of Chad as a wonderful person. We were in the same classes from 6th to 12th grade and then at UF. He patiently taught me to play guitar and I fondly remember him showing me it's finer points. He was a very sweet, smart man and he will always be thought of fondly by those who knew him. We are so sorry for your loss. Samantha Krulewitz Kappalman

It's just so hard to understand how something like this can happed to such a young man.. I met chad when I was in Ramblewood and we also lived close to one another.. I remember him and I walking to the store down the street to buy candy and we spent alot of time together.. A few years ago I ran into him in Boca and we sat and talked for hours about the past and were we were in our lives at that time.. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family...
