Charles Montgomery Obituary

Montgomery, Charles Richard (C. Dick), age 77, of Louisville, OH passed away Monday, December 29, 2003 in Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Dick was born May 23, 1926 in Clarksburg, WV, to the late Carl and Mildred (Lenard) Montgomery. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and served on the USS Absecon. Dick was a former State Senator for the state of West Virginia, serving the citizens of the Second District. He retired from the City of Fort Lauderdale in 1985, where he served as the city's Director of Planning and Community Development. Dick was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Louisville and a member of the church's Senior Saints. Dick leaves behind his loving wife, Patsy (Watson) Montgomery of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law; Ricki and Rick Champion of Knightstown, IN, Konnie and Ron Blattler of Westerville and Denise Henderson of Middlebourne, WV; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Rick and Linda Butler of Louisville, Ron and Jerri Alley of Louisville, Randy Butler of Louisville, Rodger and Lisa Alley of Port St. John, FL and Bob and Teresa Alley of Mesa, AZ; a sister and brother-in-law, Midge and Keith Blair of New Martinsville, WV; twenty-seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie and Ron Montgomery. Funeral services for Dick will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Louisville with Pastor Dan Deem officiating. Friends may call Friday evening from 5 - 8 pm at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home. Internment will follow services on Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. PAQUELET-FALK, 330-875-2811.
