Ollie HADDIX Obituary
News Death Notice
HADDIX, Ollie Mae (Spicer) 69, of Middletown, died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at home, with loving family by her side. She will be remembered for her quick wit, outrageous sense of humor and willingness to help anyone in need. She had a zest for life and thrived by putting the interests of family and friends above her own. Born July 9, 1944, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, to Shade and Lacie (Combs) Spicer. Also preceded by a sister, Hazel Miller, and niece, Sandra (Swift) Taulbee. Survived by her devoted husband, Ollie James of Middletown; a daughter, Deborah (John) Fritts, of Franklin; and sons Dan of Franklin and Doug (Margaret) of Columbus. Also survived by a brother, Cale (Opal) Cole Jr. of West Middletown; and sisters, Liza McIntosh of Middletown and Della (Kenneth) Baker of Monroe. Ollie Mae adored her five grandchildren: Jeff Fritts of Franklin, Tyler and Austin Haddix of Franklin, and Meredith and Connor Haddix of Columbus. Special thanks to Dr. Timothy Wourms for years of compassionate care. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Ave., Middletown. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ollie Mae's memory to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be submitted online at bakerstevensparramore.com/obituaries

Ollie was the best lady we ever had on Jewll Street. Sitting with her on her porch and talking was great times. She was what the neighborhood was all about. She will be forever missed.

So sorry for your loss. I grew up in the neighborhood, stayed all night at the home and was very very good friends with Debbie growing up. Ollie was very sweet and will be sadly missed. Prayers for Debbie, Danny, Doug and Ollie James. <3
