Elizabeth Perry Obituary

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Perry- February 6, 1946-August 14, 2020 --a beloved teacher of elementary and high school students in Deerfield Beach, Florida passed away at home after a brief illness. She was known for her tough love with students and her irreverent sense of humor about every situation. An animal lover, Miss Perry, always had several pets who were treated better than most humans. A unique educator who taught many students to read, Miss Perry is survived by her brother, Robert Perry, numerous close friends and hundreds of students whose lives were enriched because of her dedication in the classroom. Peace, love, adopt an animal. Donations can be made to the ASPCA or the Try County Humane Society.

Betty will always be remembered for her love of animals and children. There is a big void in this world without our friend Betty. Her friends and family miss her.

Betty had heart, passion, and love for her students. She had a brutal, raw, unfiltered way of expressing her perspective, but she always enlivened the room. I will always have respect for her commitment to her craft of teaching and inspiring youth. Rest in eternal peace, Betty❤

Betty was one of the first people I met when I moved to Florida 46 years ago. She was a wonderful friend who became a part of my family - celebrating countless holidays together, babysitting for my children, sharing laughter, fun, and good times. She had an incredible quick whit that kept us all wondering what she would say next that would bring a smile to our faces. She had an unyielding love for animals and had many that she cared for. Betty will be missed - the memories will live on. Be at peace, my friend...

Betty was such a warm person who was a fellow animal lover. Everyone loved her. She was so funny and would light up the room with her jokes. She was an excellent teacher and I had the pleasure of knowing her for the 12 years that I worked at Deerfield Beach High. I am a better person having known her as are her students.

She will most surely be missed. May she rest in peace. I hope her animals will be well taken care of.

Love,

Shellie Noll

I worked with Betty at Deerfield Beach High School. She was a dedicated educator and a devoted friend. That Rainbow Bridge now has your foot prints, Betty.
