Elmo Erhard Obituary

Erhard Erhard, Elmo E., M.D., F.A.C.S. 91, died, Tuesday, April 22, 2003. Born, July 25, 1911. Graduated Curwensville HS, 1926, Allegheny College, 1930, University of Pittsburgh Medical School, 1934, University of Pennsylvania Graduate Surgical training, 1948. Practiced General Surgery in Clearfield, PA, 1935-40. Post U of PENN graduation, he was the Assistant Chief of Surgery, U.S.V.A. Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, 1948-51. He was elected Chief of Surgery at Clearfield Hospital, PA., Member of Pittsburgh Surgical Society, PA Medical Society and AMA, 1958, lifetime member of AMA and College of Surgeons, 1961, President of Clearfield County Medical Society and Chief of Staff of Clearfield Hospital, 1968, and President of Pittsburgh Surgical Society, 1972. He retired to Boca Raton, FL in 1977 where his passion turned to being an active member of the Boca Raton Shrine, Amara Temple, examining crippled and burned children, and fund raising. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Loraine H. Erhard; daughter, Susan Erhard Todd, R.N., M.S.; son in law Robert F. Todd III., M.D. P.H.D.; two grandsons two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; one niece and six nephews. Donations may be made to the Clearfield Hospital, Turnpike Ave., Clearfield, PA 16830 and to the Shriners Hospital, 12502 N. Pine Dr., Tampa, FL 33612-9499. Arrangements by MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL, Ann Arbor, MI.
