Jack M. Emmer

Emmer, Jack M., 85 of Boca Raton transitioned to a peaceful place on January 14, 2005. Survived by his loving wife Lenore (Lee) of 57 years; their three children, Dawn Hendricks of NY (Chuck), Pamela Emmer of IA (Tom Scorzelli), Brad Emmer of FL (Debbie); grandchildren Ryan, Greg, and Sean Emmer, Jessica and Madeline Hendricks. He was born in Detroit graduating from Wayne State University. His accomplishments included partnering two successful bakeries in Detroit with his father, serving our country during WW II, where he attained the rank of Captain, moving to Miami in 1946, where he founded Magic City Bottle & Supply, later renamed Emmer Glass Co. including Emmer Housewares and Emmer Can Co. serving Florida and the Caribbean. The company went public in 1965 and was sold. He then developed a real estate investment company. In 1976, along with his son, he founded Em-Co Container Corp. He was an active member of Beth David Congregation in Miami, and numerous other charities. We will all miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held at Star of David in Ft. Lauderdale, 7701 Bailey Road, on Tuesday, January 18. Contributions can be made to Nat'l Parkinson's Foundation S.
