James Dillon Obituary

Dillon, James Edward, age 85 of Lauderhill, Florida, formerly of Avondale, PA, died Monday February 9, 2004. Born in Wilmington, Delaware he was a son of the late Martin P. and Margaret Connor Dillon. In the early 80's Mr. Dillon moved to Florida where he worked in the construction industry until his retirement in 1985. He was a 1937 graduate of Kennett High School. Survivors include his long time companion Lucy Sodano of Florida; his twin brother Martin P. and his wife Doris of Avondale, PA; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Markel and Mrs. John P. O'Connell both of West Grove. He is also survived by four nephews, Robert Markel of Springfield, MA, John P. O'Connell of Dothan, AL, William P. O'Connell of New London, PA, and M. Patrick Dillon of Glen Mills, PA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11AM Saturday February 21, 2004 at St. Gabriel's of the Sorrowful Mother Church, 8910 Gap Newport Pike, Avondale, PA 19311. Friends and family may call from 10-11AM before the service. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West Grove. Contributions may be made to St. Gabriel's Church at the above address or the Hospice by the Sea, 1531 West Palmetto Park Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33486.
