Joel Cross of Lake Worth, FL, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 83 on September 13, 2021. He will be missed deeply by all who loved him. His love, warmth, generosity, and larger than life demeanor will never be forgotten.
Joel was born on November 29, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to his parents, Marcia and Maxwell Cross. He married his high school sweetheart, Toby Cross and they were married for 63 years. In addition to being a devoted husband, he was also a loving father to his 3 sons; Bill, Michael and Jon. His philosophy of "he who dies with the most toys wins" guided his life and he clearly won. Joel also loved golfing and would play weekly followed by lunch with the boys.
Joel is survived by his wife, Toby, his sons and their spouses, Bill and Nicole, Michael and Jill, and Jon and Jen. He also has 2 sisters; Marlene and Phyllis as well as a brother in law, Jay. Joel has seven wonderful grandchildren: Ben, Sarah, Dylan, Mallory, Brianna, Zoe, and Remy. Joel was so proud of his family and all knew how much they were loved by him.
A Celebration of Life is being held at Temple Beth El in Boca Raton, FL on Friday, September 17 at 1pm. It will also be live streamed for those who cannot attend at https:\\tbeboca.org/live-streaming/.
