John Homan Obituary

John Homan, Sr., 90, of Hollywood, FL, formerly of East Brunswick, NJ, passed away on January 27, 2014. John moved to Florida in 1967 as the owner of the Floridian Motel on Hollywood Beach. Beloved husband of Mildred Homan for 66 years, John is also survived by his daughter, Roxane Knight (John); grandchildren, April Homan DeSalvo, John Homan, III, Kristian Homan, Tammy Knight Duensing and Tiffany Knight Aaron and 5 loving great-grandchildren, Julia, Jessica, Emily, Blake and Danielle. He was preceded in death by his sons, John Homan, Jr. and Terry Homan, and great-grandson, Zachary John Homan. John faithfully served his country in WWII as part of the Army 3rd division, 15th Infantry, Company G 1944. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Sands officiating. Entombment, with Military Honors rendered by the U.S. Army, will be in Hollywood Memorial Gardens. Please visit www.fredhunters.com to leave a message of condolence for the family.
