Jules Slansky Obituary

Jules Slansky, Age 92 Born in Bronx, NY on 4/28/22, Jules was one of three children who lived above the family owned candy store in the Bronx. He got into the hotel business as a waiter at Tamarac Lodge in the Catskills where he met the love of his life, Joanne, who was a guest. After they married in 1950, they moved to Miami Beach, one of the true pioneers, who saw the rising of Miami Beach as a hotel resort destination. Through his hard work and perseverance he became a hotel owner of the Crown Hotel and the San Souci Hotel on Miami Beach. When Disney opened in Orlando, Jules again saw opportunity there as the ultimate family resort and became the owner of the Orlando Vacation Resort. Jules had a tireless work ethic. He developed a special relationship with travel agents and the airlines who featured his hotels and kept them full. When he retired, they spent summers in Linville Ridge, North Carolina where they enjoyed the mountains, playing golf, and his children and grandchildren coming to visit. Jules is survived by his four children, Neal (Elaine) Slansky, Patti (Bruce) Albertson, Susan (Stewart) Gitler, and Jodi (Richard) Brodsky and his 11 grandchildren; Jared, Jessica, Kari, Erin, Bradley, Michael, Alexa, Marissa, Hillary, Peri, and Stacie and his great granddaughter, Stella Sabath. He is also survived by his sister, Lynn Endich, sister in law, Helene Slansky, and many cousins and dear friends who will remember his love of family and his generosity. He finally succumbed to Alzheimer's disease after battling for many years. After his burial in Orlando, a Shiva will be held at the home of Neal and Elaine Slansky, 3020 Sorrel Court, Weston on Tuesday, May 13th at 7 PM. Donations can be made in his honor to the Miami Jewish Health Systems Foundation, 5200 NE 2nd Ave. Miami, Fl. 33137

I am sorry to learn that Julie is no longer in Florida. I am certain he was welcomed into the arms of his Mother Helen upon his arrival home. It is interesting that my brother and I flew into Miami the day Julie left the earth. I had asked Rozie about visiting hom however she did not think it was good timing. Although I never met him- he was very gracious when I had a travel conundrum. My Mom Pauline"Pep" Blumenthal Sardis was very fond of him and adored his Mother. May you all receive signs from him as I know he will be watching over everyone. Love, Dorrie Sardis

Dear Slansky Family: I am so saddened to read of Julie's passing. He was such a lovely man and I absolutely adored him from the first day I met him. There was no one like Julie! May his blessed memory be a source of constant comfort to all who loved him, and those whom he loved.
B'shalom.
