Keating, Lawrence Joseph - Our hearts are saddened by the loss of someone so loved and respected. Lawrence Joseph Keating, 64, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away at his home early Saturday morning, November 17, 2007. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving 1960-1964. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science Degree, in 1972. He served as Director of Water and Sewer for 10 years for the City of Vero Beach. Prior to moving to Vero, he resided in Margate, FL where he was Director of Utilities and Engineering for the City of Miramar, FL. Larry was a member of the Florida Professional Engineers, Southeast Florida Utility Council, American Water Works Association, Vero Beach Kiwanis, Vero Beach Elks and the Sebastian Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Linda Keating; son, Patrick L. Keating of North Adams, MA; two step-sons, Chuck Snapp and wife, Marianne of Hollywood, FL and Thomas Chandler and wife, Diane of Jacksonville, FL; mother, Mildred Keating of North Adams; sister, Claire Bedard of N. Adams, MA; two adored grandchildren, Lindsey Keating and Dalton Keating of North Adams and numerous nieces and nephews of Mass. He will also be dearly missed by sister-in-law Karon Faulk of Nederland, TX and Best Golfing Bud, Gary Boyles, of Margate. Larry was predeceased by his father, Charles W. Keating and brother, Charles (Chuck) Keating. Private services will be held in North Adams, MA at a later date. Donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960, in memory of Mr. Keating. What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.
