Lorenzo Palminteri Obituary

Palminteri, Lorenzo (Larry), 88, of Coral Springs, FL/Brooklyn/Bronx, NY. The "real" Lorenzo of the movie "The Bronx Tale", passed away on February 28, 2008. Loyal, loving husband of 64 years of Rose; and beloved father of Rose Pascarelli, Chazz Palminteri, and Mary Kaufman. A memorial mass will be held at Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. A New York memorial service will be held at a later date. His wife; 3 children; daughter-in-law, Gianna; sons-in-law, Phil Pascarelli and Cary Kaufman; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; family; and many friends in Florida and New York were touched by his humility and inspired by his generosity of spirit, good humor, and gentle counsel. This man had a pure soul. I had the pleasure of knowing him when my dad a boxing coach and the president of fl Gold Coast. He used to hang out with me at Kenny Barrett’s gym in Coral Springs during meetings and spars, keeping me busy with some stories of his past. He even surprised me one time with his son’s autograph personalized just for me. When I met his his wonderful man, I was just a young teenager and it hurts me that we lost touch after the years but he blessed my life. He was always cheerful and pleasant to be around. May God bless your family and may he watch over you all still.
