Martin David Freeman

Freeman Freeman, Martin David, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away April 28. He was born on September 13, 1916. He was a devoted husband for 66 years, and a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Helaine; his children, Stephen Freeman (Sheila) and Derryl Lubell (Aaron); grandchildren Lauren Freeman-Bosworth (Brian Bosworth), Jason Freeman, Kyra Lubell, and Jessica Lubell; and great-grandchildren Andrew and Robin Bosworth. He was predeceased by his brother Richard. Martin graduated from Yale University in 1939. He and Helaine raised their family in Rutland, Vermont, where he founded Freeman Jewelers, a successful jewelry business he owned and operated for 55 years. He served in leadership positions in many professional, civic and religious organizations, including the Rutland Hospital, Rutland Jewish Center, Rutland Chamber of Commerce, Vermont and New England Jewelers Associations, and especially the Rutland Library. Martin's charm, humor, intelligence, and friendliness endeared him to all who knew him. We will all miss this sweet man. Services will be held Tuesday, May 1, at 1:00PM at Gutterman-Warheit Memorial Chapel, 7240 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton, FL 323487. Shiva will be observed at the home of Martin and Helaine, with services on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 6:00PM; and also in Miami on Thursday, May 3, at 6:30PM at the home of their son Stephen.
