Mary Ann Engelmann, 84, of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away on August 19, 2021 in Cooper City, Florida.

Mary Ann was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Vera and Raymond Wrede on August 9, 1937.  She went to high school in Blue Island, Illinois.  She married Gerhardt "Gary" Engelmann on April 13, 1963 in Evergreen Park, Illinois.  She graduated from Northern Illinois University and was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma (Tri-Sigma) Sorority.  She worked as a kindergarten teacher and special education teacher in Illinois and Florida and worked for Children's Home Society of Florida.  She was very social with "Club" (her best friends from the Chicago area) and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in South Florida. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her sister Florine Myer, her mother Vera Wrede and her father, Raymond Wrede. Mary Ann is survived by husband Gerhardt, son Andrew Engelmann, his wife Leonila and sons Kyle and Blake; daughter Susan Gabriel, her husband John, daughter Jessica and son William; and son Philip Engelmann, his wife Melinda and sons Wyatt and Carson. Visitation will be 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Friday, September 17th at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 18th at Davie United Methodist Church, 6500 SW 47th Street, Davie, Florida 33314 with Pastor Ruben Velasco of Kendall United Methodist Church officiating.

I knew Mary Ann when she was a fellow educator at The Quest Center. She was a gracious, talented and much-loved part of our Quest community. My sympathy to her family Her many friends will deeply miss our lovely friend.
