Mary Louise McCarthy

1939 - 2015

McCarthy, Mary Louise, 75, of Boca Raton passed away at her home on Sunday, January 18, 2015. Mary was born to Irving and Isabel Brown on October 2, 1939 in Cortland, NY. She graduated from Truxton Central High School. She met her love and soul-mate, Justin H. McCarthy Jr., they married in 1957 and moved to Endicott, NY, where Justin was employed by IBM. Four children were born in Endicott where Mary began a loving and supportive home environment. In 1968 Mary and family moved to Boca Raton where their fifth child was born. A devout Catholic, she was an active parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church. She absolutely cherished family as each person is special, wonderful and unique. God favored her with a blessing of many grandchildren, which brought her great joy and pride. She will be deeply missed by Justin, her devoted husband of 56 years; loving children: James (Pamela), Colleen Lopez (Mike), Kathleen Mahfood (Jerry), Maureen Robinson (Joseph) and Patrick (Allison). Grandchildren: Jay, Andrew &Timothy Mahfood; Heather, James, Jr & Kaitlyn McCarthy; Jacob, Haley & Jessica Robinson; Keira & Chloe McCarthy; Michael & Matthew Lopez and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her four brothers: William Randall, Jon, David, and Lorne Brown; three sisters: Grayce Costantini, Virginia Ackley and Linda Glover, and many loving nieces and nephews including special niece Raye Ann Mann. Mary was predeceased by her parents, and siblings Ina, Christine, Thomas and Alan. Visiting hours will be held at Glick Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with an evening Wake Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Committal prayers will follow at Boca Raton Mausoleum.
