Ralph J. Leonard

Leonard, Ralph J. age 91 of Davie, FL. passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. He was born in Cleveland, OH. On May 10, 1923. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942. Ralph served as a meterologist and cryptographer primarily on Attu Island in the Aleutians. After being honorably discharged from the service, he enrolled in the College of Pharmacy of Ohio Northern University where he met and married the love of his life, Joann Miles Leonard. He earned a BS in Pharmacy. Joann preceded him in death in 2008 after 60 years of marriage and their son Paul preceded him in death in 2013. He is survived by his three children, Jann Tapper of Cape Cod, MA; Steven (Lourdes) Leonard and Catherine Leonard of Davie, FL. 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. His family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, 11:00AM at St. Gregory Catholic Church 200 N. University Drive, Plantation, FL. with military honors. Interment will take place at South Florida VA National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by T. M.
