Journey well my friend, as it is written in the cosmos, God never leaves anyone behind, you started as my client and we forged a unwritten bond, HONOR AMONG MEN, I still stand by that HONOR and cherish the respect we shared on JUSTICE FOR ALL. Sleep well my friend, you always smiled when I mentioned Jessica and always say: My family, my children, I love them, I never gave up on my children and like us fathers, we live and work for our children, for they are extension of us. The bond is HONOR AMONG FATHERS WHO LOVES THEIR CHILDREN

Richard was a trusted colleague, a valued client, but most of all a friend. We will not see his kind again. Richard exemplified the very best that one could expect of a lawyer - fierce advocacy and unquestioned ethics. A'lav a shalom dear friend. You will be dearly missed.

It was my pleasure to have been Richard's contemporary at Tulane University. My interactions with him there are among my fondest memories of college.
Later, it was my honor to have had a handful of cases with him while I was a prosecutor in the South District of Florida. Richard's keen competence, thoroughness, rationality, human touch and balanced perspective always stood out, and always resulted in fair results in even the most difficult cases.
I am especially proud of the result we reached in one case, which arose when the Sentencing Guidelines were relatively new and being applied as strictly as possible. Richard's client was a troubled-young-professional who needed help, not life-altering punishment. Only through Richard's compassion, creativity and persistence was I able to see the truth of the matter, and to thereupon successfully impart Richard's view to various supervisors, who went against-the-tide and authorized a unique and solicitous resolution.
I hope that I, and Richard's survivors and friends, can get through our grief and surprise at his death by recognizing that we were blessed to have known a real Mensch.

Just sat with Richard side by side inches a part 6 days before his death at a Depo with the SA. Besides obviously shrewd, skillful and a well accomplished leader in his craft, I found out on that day, he was much more than any of that, a sweet, kind, humble and extremely gracious man. You deserve Heaven.

To the entire Sharpstein Family, Debra & all who share our grief....
What I'm feeling right now is so difficult to put into words. I can't express how shocked & devastated I am to hear of Richard's passing.
I've lost a very dear friend today. We met & bonded as 18 year old AEPi pledge brothers at Tulane in 1968. We lost contact for many years after school, but were recently reunited with a bond stronger than 40 years prior. Richard Sharpstein just returned to my life & now is gone again forever.
He was a gifted professional; a gifted friend; & a gifted & charismatic human being. He was charming, hysterical, brilliant, caring & passionate. Time spent with Dick was a joy; a laugh; a charm; a fun-filled highlight moment that you could always recall when you needed some cheer. I simply enjoyed being in his presence to share his joy of life & people. I am so saddened to know there will be no more of those moments to share. The emptiness I feel is unbearable.
Richard's absence will leave a void in the lives of all he was in contact with and, of course, a deep hole in the hearts of his family, but he will never be far from our hearts & will always be in our thoughts.
We have kept all of you in our thoughts & prayers & want to express our deepest condolences to each of you. May Richard's memory be a blessing.

I'm deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Sharpie, a true West End legend. Back in the late 90s when Michael was my camper, "Sharpie" would come up with him, sing some color war songs as he ran up the inner path and reminisce about his younger days at "the Old Westy." You will be sincerely missed, but your passion and spirit live on by those who had the pleasure to know you.

Many of the court stenographers who worked with Mr. Sharpstein through the years are deeply saddened upon his passing. We wish to express our condolences to the Sharpstein family. He always treated us with respect and kindness. In fact, we would often argue amongst ourselves as to who would get to cover any trial he was involved in. Our hearts go out to his family. You have much to be proud of.

Richard, my former law partner, all around great guy: You and Janice were so loved, and such good and caring friends to me personally during your time at JB. The circumstances of your death are immeasurably heartbreaking to all of us who knew and love you, but especially for my dear friend Janice. I cry for you, and I cry for her.

Words can't express how sad I am about this. Sharpie was my first counselor at West End House Camp and had such a profound, positive impact upon me. I so enjoyed spending time with him during Old Timers Weeks, including this past August. He loved West End House Camp and all that it stands for. He will always be in my thoughts. West End House Camp has lost a legend. RIP Sharpie.

Richard Sharpstein was always a joy to be around with.
His monologues at Richard Gerstein's staff meetings at the Miami
Springs Villas were always legendary.
He was a friend, colleague and a lawyer's lawyer.
Good bye old friend you shall be missed. Rest in peace.

Mr. Richard Sharpstein.
Handsome, funny and smart. I got to know him through the country club he was a member of. Always a smile, a few words, a quick wit.
Everyone liked him or loved him. I still cannot believe he is gone. He will truly be missed.
Always helpful!! I'm sitting here writing this and thinking it just cannot be. I did not know him as an attorney. I knew him as a great individual with smiling eyes, great voice and caring heart. R.I.P Richard Sharpstein
You will truly be missed!
