Sophia Lemonis Obituary

Lemonis, Sophia Marie (nee Thomas) of Delray Beach, previous Miami, passed away on Saturday, June 29th at the age of 76, after a valiant battle with cancer for many years. She was a loving wife for over 50 years to Leo; the cherished mother of Marcus Anthony; daughter of the late Shakery and Josephine Thomas (nee Sessin); dear sister of Anthony Thomas (Donna); a loving aunt, cousin, great-aunt and dear friend to many. She will be joined in heaven with loved ones who have passed before her and will be at the gates of heaven to greet those she's left behind. She was a caring, giving and loving person to anyone who knew her. She loved her husband, cherished her family, adored her son and will be terribly missed by all of us. We love you, Mom. The funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church (2100 NW 51st St., Boca Raton). Burial will be in Youngstown, Ohio. The Lemonis family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Glick Family Funeral Home.

Dear Leo and Marcus,
Mere words cannot convey to you the sorrow I felt at learning of my sweet cousin's passing. Even in her illness, she could not stop her smiles when her family and friends were near her. Her love was always real and honest and anyone who knew her and was the recipient of that great affection walked away a better and happier person. Always, any time spent with you both was a time of joy and laughter. Our love and prayers go out to you, Leo and Marcus. Sophie Marie (my grand-daughter's name)is with her lost loved ones now.
