Only just learning of Steven's passing from the recent issue of the UPenn Gazette. I remember him at Pine Crest with his great big smile and frequent accolades on the tennis court. I left PC in 1981 but then bumped into Steven again when we both arrived at Penn a few years later. This is a tough one to digest; he left far too early, and I send my profound condolences to his family.

I´m just devastated to hear of Steve´s passing. I was 2 years behind him at Pine Crest. He played soccer his senior year (staying in shape for lax I suspect). A great player and better teammate. I can put myself right back in his car, listening to Jungleland at full volume, as he drove us to west campus for practice. Few people made more of an impression on me back in those days. I´m so sorry.

I am completely heartbroken by the news of Steven´s passing. He and I became very close in high school and I was always loved having dinners with his family. My heart goes out to all of them. I will always remember his love for lacrosse, Bruce Springsteen (Thunder Road), his family and his fast cars! He had a smile that lit up a room. We recently re connected on social media and he had so so much love for his son! Godspeed and may your family continue to be blessed with memories of a one of a kind man.

Steven´s passing is a tremendous loss. Watching him bounce around the tennis court with boundless energy was inspiring. Whenever he was at the courts, he always had a colorful shirt, a coco-cola in a glass bottle, and a smile on his face. Just this weekend, after losing a tennis match in a tournament at JETC, he came back to the courts with his dog Raegan to cheer on the other competitors who had beaten him earlier. He was a class act. The Fort Lauderdale tennis scene will truly miss him.

My heartfelt condolences.

Steve was a major positive in my life - helping my teammate Johnny Mahon when Johnny was in need and helping open the door for me to play lacrosse at Penn.

I went to St. Andrew´s and played Pinecrest´s lacrosse team three times a year, every year. Steve and Jeff elevated those games and the love of lacrosse for all of us.

Thanks to Steve´s talent and determination at Penn, the Penn coaches recruited me despite my being from Florida. And Jeff Stoll hosted my recruiting trip to Penn.

Steve helped me make the Penn lax team. I'll always remember after one of my first Penn lacrosse practices, there was chatter that I kept up with Steve Stoll - "Tarone's fast." From then on, our coaches thought I was fast even though Steve was much faster than I - truly opened the door for me.

Steve´s commitment to friends and teammates and great compassion were always evident. Grateful for the many contributions of his leadership and his paving the way for me. He will always remembered and valued.

Much love to Steve and the Stoll family.
