Susan Steinhardt Obituary

Susan Steinhardt, Passed away Peacefully Wednesday September 28, 2016 Born November 23, 1924 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Came to this country with her family, escaping the Nazis, in December 1937. She lived shortly in Brooklyn and then moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1939. Sue married and was predeceased by Manuel Steinhardt, First Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy in 1942. Spent time during the war in Newport News, Virginia. First daughter Judy (Seth) Malin was born in 1944, Lynn (Neal) Mooney in 1947 and Rabbi David (Tobi) Steinhardt in 1953. Cherished grandmother of seven, Jennifer (Jeff) Malin Roth, Michael Mooney, Elizabeth Malin, Robb (Alyssa) Malin, Avi (Heather) Steinhardt, Gabrielle (Seth) Steinhardt Lind and Noah Steinhardt. Beloved great grandmother of - Ariel Mooney and Matthew Roth She worked for Columbia Records and worked in retail at, D. M. Read's and Macy's for over thirty years. She also worked in the record department of the HL Green's. Sue was an active volunteer at Rodeph Sholom Synagogue, Bridgeport, Connecticut for many years, as well as the PTA of Nathan Hale School. She was a volunteer for ORT for two decades. In 2000 she moved to Boca Raton, Florida where she resided until her passing. Interment services were held Thursday September 29, 2016 in Fairfield, Connecticut Memorial Contributions may be made to B'nai Torah Congregation 6261 SW 18th Street Boca Raton, Fl. 33433 / www.bnai-torah.org Further details inquire at [email protected]

To all of you, my deepest sympathies. At the funeral yesterday so many wonderful things were said, and I know how much I and my family loved Aunt Susan. May her memory be a blessing
