Todd W. Andrighetti

Todd W. Andrighetti, 48 of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on June 30, 2018 at Holy Cross Hospice after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Throughout his illness, Todd was surrounded by his partner, friends and family. A Celebration of Todd's Life will take place October 21, 2018. Please sign in the guestbook (link below) so that we can notify you with the details of time and location. Todd was born in Winsted, CT and was raised in Torrington, CT. He attended St. Peter's School where he was an altar boy, and graduated from Torrington High School in 1988 where he was on the tennis and basketball teams. After high school he attended the University of Connecticut while working days at his father's construction and paving company. He then moved to Westport, CT, to work for and live with friends at the Brook Café from 1989-1990. Todd moved to Florida in 1990 to work as the first mate bringing yachts from Lake Michigan to Florida and subsequently, in 1995, obtained his Coast Guard Captain's License for 100-ton vessels. Additionally, he and his brother Scott worked in residential contracting in Southeast Florida. Todd also worked briefly as a barista for Starbucks in both Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale while studying for his Personal Fitness Trainer Certification and Reiki Master/Massage Therapy license. Finally, in late 2015, his work as a Fitness Trainer and Massage Therapist allowed him to pursue his education in Information Technology at Broward College, where he maintained a 4.0 GPA. He would have completed his degree this year. Todd was an avid pool player and golf enthusiast and enjoyed playing tennis. He loved travelling (especially to Italy) and had a passion for eating and preparing food. He was a great dancer and partier, had boundless energy, and a love of fast cars and motorcycles. Todd influenced countless lives with his enthusiasm for movies, plays, and restaurants, and he encouraged many to have confidence in themselves. He will always be remembered for his smiling face, twinkling blue eyes, quick mind, caring and compassionate spirit, and for being considered by all as "one of the good guys." He treated family, friends and even strangers with humor, warmth and kindness. Don't cry because it is over, smile because he was here and touched so many lives. He will be missed by all. Todd leaves behind his partner, Laurence Turk, and is survived by his mother, Paula Guildford (husband, David Guildford) of Ocala, FL; his father, Peter Andrighetti, Sr.; his brothers, Peter Andrighetti Jr; Scott Andrighetti (wife, Jennifer); Robert Andrighetti (wife, Melodie); and his sister Katie Delany (husband, Mike Delany). Contributions may be made in Todd's name to Cancer Research Institute in New York City. Todd's ashes will be scattered in a few of his most beloved locations.
