Viriginia Moody Obituary

Virginia (Ginger) Dunn Moody passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on November 4, 2023, in Fort Lauderdale. Ginger was born on March 8, 1937, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Robert and Mary Dunn. The family moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1953, and Ginger became a lifelong Floridian, though she remained a diehard Red Sox fan to the end. Ginger graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School (1955). She was an avid tennis player and golfer, and also had an uncanny ability to pick the long shot at the track!

Ginger was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Lester Moody, and Lester's children, Lester Moody III and Ellie Moody Knaak. She is survived by her children, Dana (Jeff) Holding, Tracy (Chuck) Dunn, Robert (Laura) Ziegler, Alyson (William) Parker, and stepchildren, Stewart (Theresa) Moody, Michael (Laurie) Moody, Carr (Barbara) Moody, and Caroline (Bob) Schellhas. Ginger is also survived by two brothers, Robert (Kathy) Dunn and Terrence (Daunne) Dunn. Gigi's legacy lives on with twenty grandchildren and one great grandchild. We will forever miss our beautiful, feisty Irish woman!

Ginger's life will be celebrated at a private funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ginger's memory to Jack and Jill Center or the Children's Diagnostic & Treatment Center.

As Ginger care taker, the past 5-1/2 years, were a truly wonderful experience for me. I will always remember her and the close relationship we developed.
Her exciting approach to life will never be forgotten.
God bless Ginger !!
