Gene Hendrix, age 60, of Sweetwater passed away Tuesday July 24, 2018 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, July28, 2018 at Bethel Assembly with Rev. Carter Edmondson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery directed by McCoy Funeral Home. There will be a family visitation Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at McCoy Funeral Home. Gene was born August 2, 1957 in Cleburne, TX to the late Wendle Lee and Beverly Jean Beck Hendrix. He married Debrah McCain on December 31, 2012 in Ranger, TX. Gene has lived in Sweetwater since 1986 and worked as a Lineman for Oncor Electric for 38 years. He survived by his wife Debrah Hendrix of Sweetwater, a son: Bradley Hendrix & wife Krista of Sweetwater, 4 Daughters: Taryn Davis & husband Shank of Sweetwater, Bobbi Hendrix of Lubbock, Loran Hendrix of Sweetwater, Aubra Fahy & husband Patrick of Sweetwater, a Step-son; Justin Shaw & wife Leslee of Sweetwater, 2 step-daughters: Kelsi Crosson of Sweetwater, Kendra Harvey & husband Trey of Sweetwater, grandchildren; Weston Hendrix, Hayleigh Hendrix, Jeweleigh Hendrix, Kreed Davis, Graeson Davis, Kaden Molina, Mercer Fahy, Kamree Shaw, Keylee Shaw and Emery Harvey, Brothers: Sammy Hendrix of Ranger, Mark Lucky & wife Kathy of Ranger, Joe Hendrix of Sweetwater, Tim Stewert & wife Samantha of Ranger, an Uncle: Ronnie Beck & wife Elizabeth of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Debbie Sharp and grandson Koleson Bradley Hendrix. Pallbearers will be Cody Muncy, John Palmer, Justin Shaw, Trey Harvey, Bryant Wilkinson and Laverl Stephens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Basal Staggs, L.W. Davis, Rod Hobbs and Benny McElroy.
