1946 - 2023

Gloria Lee Self 77,of McCaulley, TX gained her angel wings October 9, 2023, at 8:30pm in Cedar Park, Tx surrounded by her loved ones as she peacefully passed. Was born on April 4th,1946 in Abilene ,Tx .She married the love of her of her life Tommy Self on August 22, 1964 and they were blessed with two daughters Judy Tidwell and Amy Mann. She touched many lives and was known by many names but she was most commonly known as Gee. She never met a stranger and if you met her you were her friend. Gee wore many hats: she attended Glenn and Lotty school of cosmetology in Abilene, Texas and worked as a beautician for many years, the Sweetwater Cattle Auction, Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital, and retired as a cafeteria manager at Roby High School.
Gee had a passion for singing and was considered the West TX Loretta Lynn, performing at all the local jamborees she could attend. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Fi, and enjoyed going to soap box derby races with her oldest grandson, Tanner. She had a love for all animals, sports (especially basketball), camping and fishing.
She is proceeded in death by her parents AD and Laura Hardy. She is survived by her siblings, Autrey Hardy and Janice Boil, 2 daughters Judy Tidwell, and Amy Mann, as well as her many sons Tim Tidwell, Chris Mann, Donnie Gallagher, Mike and Paul Kincaid, and Lee Holsey. She has 5 grandsons Tanner, Lee, Garrison, Roadey and Charlie, and her 2 great granddaughters, CJ and Eleanor Mann. Also multiple nieces and nephews, Michael, Nicholas and Payton Boil, Shawn and Jeffery Hardy. Brandon and Jennifer Rains and Todd Self.
Celebration of life will take place on Sunday October 15,2023 at McCoy funeral home at the McCoy chapel of Memories at 2:00pm. The family visitation is on Saturday night from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Tidwell, Chris Mann, Donnie Gallagher, Chris Soles, Tanner Mann, Garrison Mann, Roadey Mann, Charlie Tidwell. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mccoyfh.com .
