Carl Lee Miller, 79, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed away on June 21, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born December 5, 1941 to the late W.H. "Bill" and Vivian (Phillips) Miller.
He graduated in 1960 from Booneville, where he would later return to teach U.S. History and American Government at the high school for 27 years. Carl graduated college from University of the Ozarks in 1964 and then attended Harding University. He taught at Springdale Junior High School for 3 years and married Madge on August 12, 1966. Upon retiring from teaching, he took up painting houses. He also loved to garden and visit with his former students. He was a member of Woodland Heights Church of Christ in Booneville.
He is preceded in death by his parents before mentioned; his sister, Zettie Lee Miller; and his grandparents, Walter and Zettie (Maness) Phillips.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville, with burial at Ferguson Valley Cemetery near Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Madge (Howard) Miller of the home; 1 sister, Carrie Miller of Booneville; 3 nieces, Kelly Johnson of Clarksville, Loy Emmerich (Rick), and Johnnie Sides (Jim); 1 cousin, Francis Taylor of California; great niece, Samantha Chivers; great great niece, Avie Chivers; great great nephew, Max Chivers; "special buddy", Carson Cook; and many friends and other relatives.
