Del Harvey Howe
Del Harvey Howe, 78, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma was called home by his Lord and Savior on August 18, 2021. Del was born July 4, 1943 in Howland, Maine to the late Harvey and Pauline Shorey Howe. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma and accepted Christ as his savior in 2009. He was in the United States Army for three years and in 1960 spent one year at the North Pole. After his Army life, he became a machinist and worked until his death. He loved God first, family, his work and his beloved dog Dusty. Del was not only preceded in death by his parents but also sister Lois Chandler, brother Paul Howe and grandsons Tommy Davis and Bryan Baker. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sandy of the home, children Johnny Lee Howe, Cindy Norgaar (Dan), Darla Burns (John Hall), Scott Baker (Theresa Adams), Heather Davis and Kevin Johnson, siblings Phyllis Merchant (Allen), Mary Dame (Richard), David Howe (Jane), Jim Howe (Jan) and sister-in-law Debbie Howe along with 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 1st Assembly of God Church in Muldrow with Brother Shawn Money and Brother Jimmy Hunt officiating with interment at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with military honors. Public viewing will be Monday, August 23, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM with the family greeting friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Lewis Funeral Chapel 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith. Pallbearers will be Chris Howe, Jack Norgaar, Joey Davis, Catrina Schwietzer, Dillon Pullium and Zerran McCowan. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Rogers, Alex McCowan and Jonathan Burns.
