John Barry Obituary

John Edward Barry
John Edward Barry, of Barling, AR, was born May 29, 1947 in Muscatine, Iowa, where John's great great grandfather, Nicholas Barry, Sr settled after immigrating from Ireland in 1839. He and Nicholas Jr revolutionized the pearl button industry, inventing their patented Automatic Button Machine, among several other patents. At age 3, John's late parents, John Nicholas and Inez Marie (Brashier) Barry, moved their family to Sunnyvale, California. John and his younger brother, William Harrison Barry had a wonderful, adventurous childhood, thanks to their adoring parents. After high school, John enlisted in the Army, serving two tours in Vietnam working in communications. First south Vietnam during the Tet Offensive then north at Camp Eagle. John and his parents moved to Ft. Smith in the 1970's as John's mother was originally from Waldron. John loved it so much that he remained in the Ft. Smith area when his parents moved away. John enjoyed many years at Cooper Clinic in the purchasing department. He was always happy to help around the clinic in any way he could. He was well-liked and respected there, being named employee of the year twice. John Edward Barry walked through the pearly gates of Heaven May 24, 2021. He was a Christian man of high moral character who served the Lord faithfully throughout his life. John was a deacon at the First Assembly of God in Barling, Arkansas, where his memorial service will be held Saturday, June 5, at 10am. All are welcome to come celebrate John's life. The service will also be streaming live on First Assembly Of God, Barling Facebook.

John was one of my cousins. We had 3 years of our life in the same house. 2 yes. In California and a year in Ft. Smith Arkansas. When I first went to live with him my aunt and uncle it was real interesting when John's mother would call out (John) His father John and my cousin John and myself John. So somehow I started calling him A.D. ( him and I talked about that a few weeks ago) it's been so long neither one of us could remember. If you were close to JEB you would know hw made Productions. Playing many caricatures and recording them. In the early 70s he had a real to real tape recorder and we called them talkie tapes. John has a special place in my heart and I will always love him.

Praise Jesus Christ without him we have no HOPE. I will see you one everlasting day when it is my time to see Jesus Christ's face. Praise Ye the LORD hallelujah!
