Kathy Cole Obituary
Kathy Cole, 65, of Fort Smith, AR passed away on June 6, 2021. She was born January 1, 1956 in Little Rock, AR to Charles and Jo Ann Brents. She graduated from Southside High School, where she met her husband Johnny and went on to attend classes at John Brown University. Kathy dedicated her life to her family. While her children were young she was a stay at home mom who loved to bake, sew, sing and play the piano. She spent many years volunteering at Bonneville Elementary School. She worked for the local Girl Scout council (GSUSA) for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Diana Leigh; one sister-in-law, Sharon Brents.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband Johnny Cole, one son, John Cole (Andrea) of Fayetteville; two daughters, Crystal Cole of Fort Smith, Laura Jones (Freddie) of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Christopher Savage, Haden Savage, Dylan Perry, Christian Jones, Makayla Jones and Dawn Cole; one great grandson, Leon Cole; two brothers, Alan Brents of Fayetteville, Darrell Brents (Sherry) of Van Buren; numerous extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Kathy's life will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests that all in attendance wear bright colors. Services are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home. To place online condolences, visit www.edwardsfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Girl Scouts Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

Kathy was always my go to person at the Girl Scout office! Years of friendship and the very best conversations. She was a beacon of love and family was always a top priority for her. Kathy will be missed but I will always cherish my memories that we created. I was honored to call her my friend and cohort! Wonderful, blessed memories! May God bless you all! Love Lynn
