Landry James Gamble
Landry James Gamble, 15, of Greenwood, Arkansas went to be with his Savior Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born to Aaron Matthew Gamble and Tara Williams Gamble on April 21, 2006 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was anticipating his sophomore year at Greenwood High School where he was a proud GHS Bulldog. Landry was a member of Greenwood First Baptist Church where he was a faithful member and servant.
He was joined in his entry to Heaven with his father, Aaron Gamble. He is survived by his mother, Tara Williams Gamble and his sister, Dacie Gamble of the home; paternal grandparents, Tresa and Carroll Lowe of Greenwood and Jay and Rhonda Gamble of Waveland, MS; maternal grandparents, Danny and Kathy Williams of Natural Dam; paternal great-grandmother, Laverne Wheeler of Greenwood; maternal great-grandfather, W. Harold Thames of Greenwood. Landry was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sharon Willams of Greenwood. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, classmates, teachers and coaches. All who knew him will greatly miss his beautiful smile, his helpful, loving heart, and his teasing humor.
Landry was a member of the GHS golf team, manager for the GHS basketball team, a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and a member of the Principal's Roll. He was involved in the Greenwood FBC Youth group, was on the youth leadership team, and served in the church's children's ministry.
The funeral service to mourn the loss and celebrate the eternal victory of Landry's life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 23 at the H.B. Stewart Arena on the Greenwood High School Campus under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Tuesday from 2 – 7 p.m. at the same location with visitation with the family from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Brian Williams, Derek Williams, Ethan Adams, JR Wheeler, Kyle Elmore, and Donnie Husband.
