Lois Hicks Obituary
Lois Katherine Hicks, 87, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona on October 14, 1933 to the late Harold and Doris Catte. After her natural father's death, her mother married William Truitt who helped raise her and her two sisters. Lois married Gilbert Hicks on April 25, 1954 in Pratt, Kansas and they raised three children. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Fort Smith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert and their son, Greg. She is survived by her two sisters; Marilyn Cade of Kansas and Alice Kinnison of Colorado; her daughters, Kathy Caperton and husband, Steve of Fort Smith and Pennie Clark and husband, Bobby of Greenwood; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 22 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with inurnment at Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cross Cemetery P.O. Box 751, Greenwood, AR 72936, St Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Gideons International.

I always loved when Aunt Lois and Uncle Gib came to town to visit, I have very special memories. They were very special people. Aunt Lois was always smiling. I am so saddened to hear of her passing. I pray for peace for her children and grandchildren during this time.
