Rachel Gardner Obituary
Rachel Jeanne Gardner, 37, of Poteau died Sunday, April 28, 2019, in Fort Smith.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Springhill Baptist Church under the direction of Grace Funeral Service in Poteau.
She is survived by her parents, Gloria and Jimmy Gardner of the home; and a brother, James Gardner of Little Rock.

Rachel was such a brave, courageous young woman who taught me to be courageous also. I was with her parents shortly after the heard the news of their baby daughters plight. As she grew, her joy and Faith were evidence of her strong relationship with the Lord. She touched many. God bless her family and keep them safe until their time comes to be reunited with her and rejoice in the Lord!

My heart aches for you all but I am rejoicing with you that Rachel is with our Lord and Savior and no longer suffering. I love you all and I am praying for God's peace and comfort for you. Being the newcomer in the neighborhood, Rachel and her family only came to my house two times to sing Christmas Carols before she was unable to do so. I do remember her sweet presence and her obvious love for Jesus and to make Him known. I'm not surprised that He couldn't wait any longer to have her in heaven with Him. My heart is sad for your loss, but rejoicing that she is experiencing the unspeakable joy of being in his presence.
