Sgt. Rick Allen Entmeier of Cameron, Oklahoma was born August 11, 1969 in Freeport, Illinois to Don and Velma (Jones) Entmeier and passed away June 18, 2021 in Poteau, Oklahoma at the age of 51.
Rick is survived by his wife Sundee Kay Entmeier; his sons, Garrett Entmeier, and Addisen Entmeier; his father, Don Entmeier; his mother Velma and Fred Zavala; grandchildren, Vyker Entmeier, and Anakin Entmeier; a sister, Kristie Entmeier; niece Katelyn Campbell; nephew Vallard Campbell IV.
Sgt. Entmeier started his career in Oklahoma serving as the Police Chief at Shady Point Police Department. He worked as the Undersheriff for the Leflore County Sheriff's Department. He started working for the Fort Smith Police Department in 2001, as a Patrol Officer and served in the Department's Office of Professional Standards before being promoted to Sergeant in June 2010. He served with the Fort Smith Police Department for almost 20 years.
Sgt. Entmeier spent several years as a patrol troop supervisor. He was serving as the Property Crimes Sergeant in the Criminal Investigations Division at the time of his death. He was also a Polygraph Examiner at the Fort Smith Police Department and Defensive Tactics Instructor at the Fort Smith Police Training Academy. Rick also served his country with the United States Army.
The Fort Smith Police Department says, "Sgt. Entmeier was also a devoted family man, a husband, father, and grandfather. He extended his good nature to those of us who worked with him every day, and we will miss his friendly greetings, jovial voice, and infectious smile."
Pallbearers will be The Fort Smith Police Department Honor Guard, and his sons Addisen and Garrett Entmeier.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am Friday, June 25, 2021, at First Baptist Church Pocola, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery Cameron, Oklahoma. Viewing will be Thursday 9am – 8pm with the family greeting friends from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Grace Funeral Service in Poteau, Oklahoma.
